The preparation process of activated carbon is as follows:
- Gas activation method (physical activation method);
- Chemical activation method (chemical activation method);
- Physical and chemical activation method.
The preparation process of activated carbon can also be subdivided into water vapor activation method, carbon dioxide activation method, water vapor – carbon dioxide mixed activation method, zinc chloride activation method, phosphoric acid activation method, potassium hydroxide and potassium sulfide activation method.
