The Raw Materials of Activated Carbon
The raw materials used to produce activated carbon are very rich, in general, there are the following categories:
- Plant raw materials, such as wood, sawdust, fruit pits, fruit shells and some herbs and so on;
- Mineral raw materials, such as various coal and petroleum residues;
- All kinds of industrial wastes, such as animal bones and blood, waste plastics, waste rubber, waste tires, etc.;
- All kinds of organic synthetic fibers, such as polyacrylonitrile fiber, rayon, phenolic resin fiber, asphalt fiber, etc.;
- All kinds of organic synthetic materials, such as polytetrafluoroethylene, polyvinylidene chloride, polyvinyl fluoride, methyl cellulose polyformaldehyde;
- All kinds of oils, such as green oil, carbon black oil, heavy oil, coal tar, wood tar, caramel and so on.
