The treatment of soil pollution by coal based activated carbon

The treatment of soil pollution by coal based activated carbon mainly includes two aspects: soil remediation and soil improvement.

1. Soil remediation

There are currently three commonly used techniques for soil remediation: washing, heat treatment, and steam treatment. In these three methods, pollutants in the soil are first transferred to the liquid or gas phase, and then removed by activated carbon. Although the transfer routes are different, activated carbon is required as the final adsorbent. According to the different pollutants, different activated carbons need to be selected for targeted adsorption.

2. Soil improvement

Adding an appropriate amount of activated carbon to the soil can improve the physical structure and chemical properties of the soil, regulate the application effect of fertilizers and pesticides, reduce pollution from pesticides and chemicals, and improve poor soil conditions, promoting the growth of plant seedlings.
