Determination of iodine adsorption value
After mixing a certain amount of activated carbon with a known concentration of iodine solution and shaking filtration, a certain amount of clear solution is taken and titrated with a known concentration of sodium thiosulfate to calculate the amount of iodine adsorbed per gram of activated carbon. Iodine value can characterize the number of micropores in activated carbon, determine the degree of activation, and is one of the most commonly used indicators of activated carbon adsorption performance.
